Leica a proto LEICA: I Mod. A Elmar Prototype
Early and unknown factory prototype (test camera) from Oskar Barnack's
workshop, similar to later cameras illustrated in Lager 1, pages 114-115.
The base and top have been altered with what Lager describes as "pockets"
for the slide off back, also the base plate is modified. Scratched inside
the camera's body is "P.988". Almost no paint, in working order. (nº
5167, 1927, condition C)
